Where Spiritual Meets Practical
Faith Bible College offers two study programmes for equipping people for a life in ministry. Both programmes are offered at our beautiful rural Welcome Bay campus in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty and completed over a 40 week period. Programmes usually begin (subject to availability) in February and July (*September) with graduations in November and June.
Course content includes both theoretical and practical components, and the assessments spread across both standard academic studies and practicums. During the course of the programme, students will have opportunities to serve in churches, charities and Christian organizations both in NZ and overseas. Upon completion, students not only gain a nationally recognised qualification, they also gain unparalleled valuable practical experience for a life in ministry and missions.
Faith Bible College is committed to ensuring that students easily transition from the classroom into the work-place. Graduates will have the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to obtain employment.
Graduates of the NZ Certificate in Christian Ministry programme (Internship Strand) will be able to engage with and support their faith communities as guides, mentors and leaders in a local church or workplace. This strand combines theory and practical experience and will benefit graduates by enabling them to experience a real-life practical context.
The NZ Diploma in Christian Studies (Leadership Strand) programme allows people to focus on the principles of biblical theological education that underpin their ability to assist people, lead small community groups, and assist church leaders in the planning, organisation and delivery of a variety of pastoral ministry roles. Graduates of the programme will be ready for positions of leadership.
Students will also have opportunities to connect with Faith Bible College alumni. Faith Bible College boasts of nearly 3500 graduates with many serving in ministries all over the world.
Both programmes are NZQA approved and Faith Bible Bible College is accredited to teach them. NZ students are eligible for government loans and allowances, for information on this, please go to the StudyLink website.
We also offer a “Discovery Week” each Semester for prospective students to attend classes and experience what life is like as a student at FBC. Contact the Registrar for more information.
*Should there be spaces, there is also a September intake for the New Zealand Certificate in Christian Ministry programme.
External Evaluation and Review (EER)
NZQA assesses the standard of education for tertiary education organisations through a regular system of external evaluation and review (EER). Through periodic EER, tertiary education organisations are held accountable to their students, employers, funders, quality assurance bodies and other interested parties.
In April 2015, Faith Bible College went through its second EER and the results as follows:
- Statement of confidence on educational performance: NZQA is Confident in the educational performance of Faith Bible College.
- Statement of confidence on capability is self-assessment: NZQA is Confident in the capability in self-assessment of Faith Bible College.
As a result of the above, Faith Bible College is a Category Two provider. You can read a copy of the college’s EER report here.
